Reduce cognitive load at every moment of use, from first glance to completion.
Adapt to diverse cities, agencies, infrastructures, and operational conditions without breaking the system.
Work across cultures, scripts, and physical abilities, with accessibility as a default.
One geometry underneath everything. The mark, the typeface and the pictograms are built on the same grid — but where the mark and the type hold the arc, the pictograms cut it sharp. Information reads as information, not as more brand.

Circular carries five writing systems on its own — Latin, Greek, Cyrillic, Hebrew and Arabic. Noto Sans picks up the rest: Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Thai and Devanagari. They are matched on stroke weight and apparent size at reading distance, the measures that hold across scripts.
The pictograms resemble the thing they name. A symbol that stands for something only by agreement has to be taught first, and a stranger on a platform has no time to be taught. They are the one part of the system that assumes nothing about the person in front of them — a rider who cannot read the sign, does not have the app, or cannot hear the announcement still knows what it means.
Color has one job in this system: it identifies a line. Every applied value keeps the hue and saturation of the core it derives from and moves only in lightness, and the shift is recorded rather than eyeballed — so a route holds its identity on a dark platform sign and on a printed white map without becoming a second color.

Every text and control pair clears WCAG AA, measured rather than judged. What reads comfortably to a designer at a desk is too small and too low in contrast for a rider on a platform.
A signal keeps working only while it means one thing. Nova Purple identifies a line, light identifies a place, and the marks stay neutral so neither has to compete — on the platform that reads as a purple route, a halo canopy, and a level marker.
One geometry, ten writing systems, one pictogram family, every color pair measured against AA. The stranger who arrives with none of the language still knows which way to go.
