Specimen

Speakers First- and second-language speakers of languages written in the script, summed by country from Unicode CLDR 48.2 (2026). People count under several scripts, so totals exceed world population. Readers Speakers weighted by each country's literacy rate. Languages Languages CLDR records in the script; it tracks about 700, so Latin's count is a floor.

The bars Under Speakers and On the map, each bar shows that value against the largest in its column. The map measures land, not people: compare the two to see where they part. Updated yearly with CLDR.
